Hurray Public Transportation!!!
For some drivers, the bus is the fast car.
Today may have been the worst driving experience of my life!!! Just to clarify my point, I had already possessed an extreme fear of driving before today’s fiasco. Now, my previous fears of driving have been multiplied by around a million!

Bentley Arnage Limousine
Who needs a fast car when you can get a Bentley Arnage limo, a fast car with a driver?
Bentley’s have always been seen as automotive heavyweights, figuratively and literally speaking, and with the advent of the new Bentley Arnage Limousine that quite literally spares no expense, the pointy end of the luxury car market is about to get very heated indeed.

The First Biker Law
I'm just wondering what the First Law of Fast Cars would be.
There's a rant by Tony Long in Wired about how he dumped his bike after an SUV driver stopped unexpectedly because she was using a cellphone. He was following her too closely, couldn't react in time to avoid the SUV so down he went. I'm sorry about his luck but he violated the First Biker Law. (Wired: Hang Up and Drive )

Sexy IPod Porn
I didn't know they had gay NASCAR chat rooms!
I know it will work. The precedents are all in place. You already know how sex and porn drove much of the innovation and evolution of the Internet itself, yes? The porn industry, more than Napster and more than online gaming and more than Amazon and more than AOL’s gay NASCAR fan chat rooms, made the Internet what you lust after today.

Insurance Red Tape
If you're changing your car insurance policy, you can run into some unexpected charges.
Carl recently picked up renters insurance as a rider on his car insurance policy. He provided both of our info for the new renter’s policy. His insurance just informed him that since he has another person of legal age to drive who is uninsured, he has to put me on his policy. It’s an additional $500 a year. If he declines to do so, the insurance company can wipe their hands clean of us if I EVER drive his car and EVER get in ANY kind of an accident, even one that is not my fault.

How To Become A Pancake
If you're hooving it, watch out for the fast cars!
Numerous times over the past few months I've had my nerves and my brake pads worn down by pedestrians walking around in La La Land. A couple of times they've darted out into a crosswalk from behind large parked vehicles (vans or SUV's) without first looking for traffic. No amount of yellow or white parallel stripes painted on the street will protect you if I can't see you, my friend.

Vanquished
Why the Aston Martin fast cars are a cut above:
It's the noise they make, too. They sound like there's two rhinos under the bonnet having their bollocks mashed up by a mallet. None of this high-pitched 'Waa-Waa' crap you get with sports cars, but a deep, rumbling noise that just makes your guts shake. You can tell there's one coming because all the buildings around you fall down like a Japanese suburb. Oh, man, they're just fucking beautiful.

Country Code Stickers
Good information here on those oval stickers with country codes that you see on cars.
Now, then: to those of you who do display these stickers on your vehicles, let’s get to my question. Essentially, I am highly curious to learn precisely why you choose to brandish these oval country code stickers in the first place. ‘Tis true that this subject is none of my business; therefore, feel free not to answer or to point your browser at another Web site. Heaven knows I won’t be offended (I won’t even be aware of your actions, truth be told, as I no longer use SiteMeter or any other Web site traffic analysis tools on the MTA weblog).

Review: CarChip
Nice write up on installing and using the CarChip, a fast car add-on that records your vehicle's performance.
There were several options for looking at the data (numerically, visually, in summary form). Since we had used the default parameters, only the speed, RPM, and a few other basic vehicle data were recorded. If you blog about fast cars, submit your post to Blog Carnival with the submit button at the top of the left column.

Bombay Beemers
More, better fast cars in India.
So the German auto maker BMW has finally officially announced their plans of setting shop in India much to the relief of auto buffs who have waited patiently ever since BMW first announced that India was on their radar. BMW have revealed that will initially invest 20 million Euros or Rs. 1.1 billion with a plant in Chennai to assemble their 3 series and 5 series sedans. Being a luxury car manufacturer going up against rival Mercedes who have had a head start of a few years is BMW jumping into an already crowded territory?

Hydrogen Car
Where do we sign up for the hydrogen-powered fast cars?
Have you ever seen a hydrogen powered car? If your'e like me, then the answere is no. But, Jon Spallino of Los Angeles drives one every day, and has the advantage of owning a car worth more than ten top end luxury cars. Aside from that the only waste the car produces is drinkable water which is awesome. But, I am surprised that R&D didn't began on hydrogen cars earliers, because according to this article we already had hydrogen fuel cells in the Apollo spacecraft.

We Have Become A Nation Of Pussies
We've also become a nation of fast cars that are hard to fix at home.
And it doesn't take much to see when all the things I love are being threatened: for instance, when Tim Allen's excellent comedy routine on being a man was reduced to a that stupid sitcom Home Improvement. The show should have been called Man Improvement, because that's what every single plotline entailed: turning a man into a "better" person, instead of just leaving him alone to work on restoring the vintage sports car in his garage. I stopped watching the show after about four episodes.

So Cool It's Scary
Government developed technology ends up in fast cars and fighting crime.
If you blog about technology or fast cars, submit your post to Blog Carnival. Use the submit button at the top of the left column. This stuff is cool and as I said before, scary. I mean it cost the U.S. Department of Defense about $12 billion to develop GPS technology, create and install the satellites that can monitor your every step, or beam down directions to the computerized voice in your Lexus SUV’s navigation system. The possibilities are big, but tv.ku.edu has to start small, especially when the budget is more like $12, not $12 billion.

Still A Certified Ford Lover
A mean and green fast car fan.
My very first auto was a Ford F-150 truck. I love its utility and durability. I can drive it to almost every destination, either on-road and off-road. Lately, I just bought a 2-wheel drive Ford Escape Hybrid. It’s marvelous. This sport utility vehicle is another remarkable vehicle from Ford I should say. Its 2.3L 4-cylinder engine mated with 50-kilowatt electric motor works just as good as a powerful V6 and its very fuel efficient. In fact, it got an EPA fuel economy rating of 36 mpg in the city.

Aston Martin Offer Hands Free Bluetooth
For all you Aston Martin fast car drivers, you may now keep your hands on the wheel.
Motorola announced today that its IHF1000 Bluetooth car kit is currently available in Aston Martin’s, Vanquish S and DB9 sports cars. Motorola’s leading in-vehicle technology, provides Aston Martin owners with a seamless communications experience that keeps them connected to their office, home, friends and family through innovative Bluetooth technology. The Motorola IHF1000 mutes the vehicle’s stereo system on receipt of an incoming call or the start of an outgoing call, so drivers can conduct hands-free and wire-free mobile phone calls. Unlike standard speaker-dependent voice recognition systems that rely on exact pronunciation of a recorded name, the IHF1000 accurately recognises voice commands, regardless of accent or articulation. A highly advanced noise reduction system ensures background noise has no affect on voice commands. This allows the driver to connect seamlessly the first time, while on the move in some of the world’s most desirable sports cars. Incoming calls, SMS messages and battery monitoring are also announced to the driver through the car’s sound system and speakers.

Working on Sharona
Nice fast car fantasy for Sharona, the Fiero undergoing reconstructive surgery.
I don't have the whole idea fully defined yet, but I have the gist of it. I want her to look like an exotic sport car on the outside and have all the amenities of a modern luxury car on the inside. By amenities, I mean things like itegrated...well...everything. Navigation, entertainment, systems monitoring and HVAC controls all handled by a “Car-puter” (I'm not a big fan of the term, but you get my meaning). Rear-view video display. Black leather and exotic woods. Momo steering wheel and shifter. Custom dash and console. The whole nine.
