The First Biker Law
I'm just wondering what the First Law of Fast Cars would be.
There's a rant by Tony Long in Wired about how he dumped his bike after an SUV driver stopped unexpectedly because she was using a cellphone. He was following her too closely, couldn't react in time to avoid the SUV so down he went. I'm sorry about his luck but he violated the First Biker Law. (Wired: Hang Up and Drive )

Don't hit motorcycles! (grin)
Usually speeders are pretty good drivers. It's the woodchucks in the SUVs who will kill you. I've been hit twice by cars while riding a motorcycle and both times it was by klunks who did something incredibly stupid. But the First Biker Law still applies. I let them hit me so it was my fault both times.
Thanks for the trackback
