"Not A Sport For Women"
On some recent comments from fast car driver Richard Petty.
Let me get a wee bit out of my normal NHRA lane here and mention Richard Petty's comment during an Associated Press interview published yesterday; "I just don't think it's a sport for women," Petty said. "And so far, it's proved out. It's really not. It's good for them to come in. It gives us a lot of publicity, it gives them publicity."

Richard Petty IS the King. NASCAR is NOT what it used to be in any way shape or form. They should be sued for using "Stock Car" in their description. Women should be allowed in any sport where they are qualified to participate. NASCAR needs women to combat the unquestioning good old boys that mindlessly go along with a move away from the purity of the stock car tradition.
