NASCAR Tire Wars

fast car hoosier tire Goodyear Tires had some competition in the 1980s for its fast car business.
The small Mid-Western based Hoosier Tire Company owned by Bob Newton entered Winston Cup and started supplying tires to Cup teams in 1988. Opening the year 10 teams started the Daytona 500 on Hoosiers. Bobby Allison won that event on Goodyears but the Hoosier shod teams didn’t embarrass themselves either.
